April 21, 2022

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

Hi Friends,

This week Mom was able to join Dad on a delivery trip into Ukraine. Here is an update from her: Tuesday, April 19, 2022 Today Reinhard and I went into Ukraine, and that was very special for me. After overloading the van with food and supplies, we made it through all the borders and customs (Reinhard gave chocolate Easter bunnies to the army guards!). Best of all, I was able to spend some time with a special missionary friend, Michele, who recently lost her husband and is still leading the ministry and church with the help of her team. Michele is an amazing woman of God who has gone through such hard times but is caring for the church and feeding the many refugees who have ended up in their village. What a blessing to see and hear what God is doing in this community!

We took our translator, Lydia back home so she could spend a week with her mom and get some school work done. She cannot wait to come back in a week to help us with translation with our Ukrainian moms and families. Lydia is such a blessing, especially when we are having our daily devotions. She is very bold, has high Christian standards, and helps us resolve conflicts that occur from time to time. Without her we would be so lost. God is so good for providing this precious young lady to us!

Back home in Rasa, we continue to make our centre a home to 35 women and children who had to leave Ukraine, their husbands, fathers, family, friends and homes. We love these precious women and children and try to give them all that they need being so far away from what they know and love. They are so thankful for the cozy surroundings, good food, and all that we provide for them – and all of this is because of your prayers and finances – thank you so very much!

One of the highlights is having daily devotions with the ladies and having church on Sundays. They are eager to hear about God and what He has done for us. As they listen to our stories, they ask many questions; sometimes they feel very hurt and afraid because of what’s happening back home. We pray that God will speak to them and soften their hearts and give them hope and a new life in Him.

Even though there are many difficult times, we are encouraged and excited for what the Lord is going to do in the lives of these women while they are with us! God has blessed us, our ministry, and these families, and we pray His blessings on you too. We are so thankful for your love and prayers! Love from Rasa, Darcey & Reinhard
