This past Wednesday, Reinhard and Terence took a third load of food, necessities, and medical supplies into Reni, Ukraine. Dad says, "The Danube River is the border between Romania and Ukraine, and this is the ferry we use to cross into Ukraine to deliver food, medicine and essentials. The ferry brings thousands of refugees daily, mostly women with children, fleeing Ukraine to Romania. On the Romanian side, a small tent camp has been set up (the blue and orange tents in the following picture), where hundreds of Romanians help the mothers and children with hot drinks, meals, and even SIM cards for local calls. After processing through customs, most refugees are bused to Bucharest where they are distributed to places to stay or are transferred to other countries."
The van delivery at the church is always met with extreme gratitude - they are so dependent on the help coming in.
A couple of weeks ago, a fun delivery was made for the Rasa Center - 160 little chicks! Once they have grown, some of them will be used for laying eggs, and others will end up being much needed food!
The women and children at the Rasa Center are doing well in general. There have been some very hard, emotional, days - as you may imagine. Some of the mothers have heard terrible things of what has happened to their homes and neighbourhoods, and they can't physically do anything about it. Some are able to stay in touch with their husbands back home, but they are so worried for them. The poor widows and others in need in Rasa have not been forgotten with all that has been going on. Making home visits and delivering food to them is continuing on, and is a very precious part of the ministry there.
Mom and Dad are tired but are doing well. Your words of encouragement, prayers, and donations are needed, and continue to be a huge support for them and the ministry. They are truly so grateful.
