Hi friends, Here is an update from my Mom to let you all know how things have been going at the Rasa Family Center lately:

"This week things have been a bit slower around the Center as several moms with kids left to go back to Ukraine. This has been a long, hard road for them and they just felt it was time to go back. Many have asked if they could come back if things got really bad.

The moms that are still here are struggling and want to go back as well, but it may be a few weeks before they go as they need to get some paperwork done at the embassy in Bucharest. We also have 1 mom with 2 kids coming back already. At this time we have 17 moms and kids here.

The women keep busy helping with cooking and baking, cleaning, laundry and mostly taking care of their children. Some of the children are very young and active, so they keep the moms very busy. They usually go out for daily walks, but several of the children have been sick and doctor visits are ongoing. We also try to take them into Calarasi (the city) a few times per week to do some shopping or go to the park.

Last week, we were able to take all the moms and kids to Bucharest on a rented bus to visit a theme park for the day. They absolutely loved getting away and having some fun with their kids! They have also been to the zoo and we took them all out for pizza one night. It is very important that they feel loved and cared for while away from home. They just need some time to forget their problems back home. They miss their husbands and fathers so much and are tired and weary.

We do daily devotions with them each morning and pray for them. They are so appreciative that we care for them in this way.

We have had several guys come from Norway to help us. They mostly help Reinhard with all the shopping, packing of vans and driving into Ukraine every week. This has been such a blessing to us. But they also help us here at the center, driving and doing errands for us, and just being an encouragement to us, which we so desperately need these days.

We are excited to have a baptism service here at the Rasa Center next Sunday (June 5). Three Romanian teenagers and one Ukrainian girl will be baptized, followed by a big fellowship dinner!

Please pray for the refugees - they desperately want to go home, but we are not convinced that this is the right time as the war is slowly moving towards us; it is not safe. Sadly, we may be getting a lot more refugees in the next while!"
